Statistics is the science of analyzing, interpreting,
and making decisions from data to advance research,
improve processes, and serve society.
Our faculty
and student body are relatively small but growing
and highly engaged in numerous disciplines, including
social sciences, networks, machine learning, biology,
temporal-spatial problems, and the environment. We
invite you to explore the wide range of activities
in which the department is involved (People,
Colloquia & Reports), consider opportunities through
our graduate and undergraduate courses and programs
of study, and utilize our Indiana Statistical
Consulting Center.
Our teaching:
The field of statistics has a coherent body of theory, which students of the field master, as well as methodology designed for applied uses in many disciplines. The department teaches courses in both theoretical and applied statistics. Please click on "Courses" to the left for more information.
