Who we are:
The Department of Statistics is the newest department in the College of Arts and Sciences at Indiana University in Bloomington. We were created in July 2006 from Commitment to Excellence funding from the University. The faculty in the department either have majority appointments in Statistics, or are affiliated with both Statistics and a variety of other departments on campus, such as Psychological and Brain Sciences, Informatics, Economics, Education, Business, Mathematics, Geography, Sociology or Computer Science.

Our teaching:
The field of statistics has a coherent body of theory, which students of the field master, as well as methodology designed for applied uses in many disciplines. The department teaches courses in both theoretical and applied statistics. Please click on "Courses" to the left for more information.
